The ancient Newari settlement of Bandipur stretches east to west on its mountain saddle reflecting the architecture richness of the Kathmandu valley in its pagoda roofs, latticework windows and stone-paved streets. The dwellings are in the form of compact town houses, built of brick often with ornate windows and doorways. The roofs are of tin or slate. A distinctive aspect of the Bazzar is a covered veranda that extends through its entire length, from shop front to shop front. There are many temples and caves in and around bandipur. Bandipur offer panoramic views of different mountain peaks of the central Himalayas, including Jugle, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gorkha Himal, Manaslu, Buddha himal, the annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
