Annapurna Region - Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

The Ghorepani poon hill trekking is an immensely popular short trek to the Annapurnas on the North of Nepal's famous Lake city Pokhara. The trek is ideal for those who can afford short time but aspire to embrace the nature beauty and the magnificent view of Himalayas of Annapurna region. The breathtaking mountain scenery of whole Annapurna range and the beautiful ethnic Gurung villages justify the popularity of Ghorepani Poon hill trekking and is the best seller among all our short trekking In Nepal. The main attraction of this trek is the visit to Poon Hill from where we can enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the whole Himalayan range. The panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu and other numerous mountains along the world's deepest Kali Gandaki gorge.

The trail follows one of the well-trodden routes through lust forest and delightful Himalayan settlements of diverse ethnic groups. Due to the incredible altitudinal range, the trek offers the opportunity to marvel at picturesque hamlets; mountain village intricately terraced fields and forested ridges. Ghorepani poonhill trekking can be done all through the year although in monsoon (July - Aug) it is not recommended.

The pun hill ghorepani trek starts from Nayapul Crossing the suspension bridge over Modhi Khola River, after an hour of drive from Pokhara. We ascend through ethnic villages and farm terraces enjoying the views of Machhapuchare Towering above. On the second day we walk mostly through woods before we reach Ghorepani Village, base camp of the Poon hill. Next morning we make an early climb of one hour to the nearby Poon hill for the spectacular view of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Fishtail and other famous mountains of the west region.

The whole of Ghorepani is densely forested with rhododendron trees, the national flower of Nepal. Every spring it is tremendous scenery to watch these forests in bloom with the panorama of the high mountains on the skyline From Ghorepani we descend for the beautiful Gurung (name of a tribe) village of Ghandruk on the lap of the Annapurnas. The village is known for its traditional houses, rich culture and the great landscape. Walking down through the innumerable steps we make a loop at Birethanti and catch our vehicle for Pokhara at Nayapul.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day, check into hotel and rest.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley
Day 03: Fly to Pokhara (Pkr), the lake city and drive to Nayapul( one hr) and trek to Tikhedhunga - starting of the Poonhill Ghorepani trekking
Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani (2855 m), stay in simple lodge.
Day 05: Climb to Poon Hill for great views of the Himalayas and trek to Tadapani (2595 m). Poon hill is the highest point on the Ghorepani trek
Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk explores the ethnic village, trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara, stay in Pokhara.
Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu, join Nepali dinner and cultural show
Day 08: Final departure tranfer to airport.
